In and Out

The boys practiced their construction skill today by building a "castle." When it was done, Thomas made sure to show me which side was the entrance and which was the exit. Earlier this week we were somewhere that had two doors and Thomas and I took time to read the signs "Enter" and "Exit". I offered to make signs for the boys' castle. We took turns switching the signs around and then reading them to see which way to go.

Last time we used our watercolors I put a piece of paper towel on top when we were done to soak up the extra water. The next time we opened them up we got a pleasant surprise - a rainbow! The boys and I hung it up on our window so the light could shine through like stained glass.

Seems like we've been watching a lot of TV lately (sigh), but I have been pretty good about incorporating an activity that goes along with what we are watching. Today we watched Barney: Animal ABC's on Netflix. As we were watching, I wrote all of the animal names down on notecards. Thomas enjoyed watching me write the letters and sounding out the words. When I have time, I want to find pictures of the animals to make a matching game.
