R.I.P. Mr. tadpole

Despite my best efforts to feed and water our one remaining tadpole every day, sadly, he has passed. The caterpillar is not looking too good either. He hasn't moved all day. Thomas didn't seem to concerned, though. I guess the lesson to be learned here is that wild animals are best left in their natural ecosystem. We will go visit the pond that these tadpoles came from and see how the rest of them are doing. We just won't bring any home this time.

We had quite a hail storm last night. I really wish I had taken pictures of the garden the other day when the boys and I were out there. This morning I woke up to find our poor little plants battered to pieces. I hope the next few days of sun will help them perk back up!

The boys haven't expressed much interest in coloring the workbook pages I've printed out from starfall.com . . . until today. I used some pages from their favorite letter games to make wrapping paper to wrap a present for Aunt Amanda. As soon as they saw what I was doing they wanted to get involved. We talked about all the letters and pictures as I was wrapping and then I let them color it with their crayons. Sometimes you have to think outside the box :)
