Fernbank Nature Quest

We had our first visit to Fernbank Museum of Natural History today. The boys had a great time. Fernbank is now at the top of my list of places to get a membership. There is so much to see and do, we could go there dozens of times and still not fully explore all they have to offer.

Neither of the boys have expressed much interest in dinosaurs, yet. Jacob just enjoyed running around the maze of exhibits. Thomas was a little frightened of the realistic looking prehistoric animals on display. I had to keep reminding them they are not real.

The best part of our visit was playing in the new NatureQuest exhibit - a discovery play area geared towards kids. The realistic looking, hands-on activities are educational and fun. After we got home I found a bunch of supplemental teaching material we can print out to get us ready for the next time we go back.

(These are not my photos. I found them on the internet.)
