Monday

We started the week off strong with a very full day of school. As I was cooking breakfast the boys played with Legos and we listened to the CD recordings of our CC memory work. After breakfast we reviewed the memory work together using the printouts on the memory wall and the interactive app on my iPad. Then it was time for worksheets.

Grammar:
We talked about nouns and did a couple worksheets

Math:
Thomas practiced more sequencing with even larger numbers. This time it was 4 digit numbers. Jacob did a page about time and another one with patterns.

Phonics:
They each read a few pages out of our Phonics Pathways book. We are still working on the -y suffix.

Reading:
Then we met Amanda and Harper at the library.

Thomas read us all a book about spiders.

As usual, we came home with an armload of books.

Art:
One of the books the boys found was how to draw monsters. They took turns with that book while the other boy finished up his math worksheets.

History:
I read the the boys the history facts from the back of our timeline flashcards as they tried to copy the picture on the front of the card. They are each compiling their own book of history facts that they can use to help them study.

Writing:
For handwriting practice they each traced our history memory sentence in their writing notebooks.

At bedtime we read a few of our library books. This book about prepositions relates to our English memory sentence for the week.

And we read about classifying animals which relates to our science memory sentence.

Then we started a new Magic Tree House book. This is their newest one that just came out earlier this year. Thomas was very excited when we saw that on the library shelf.
