In The Beginning

For this school year our history lessons will all focus on ancient civilizations. This past week was our first week and we started at the beginning with the first humans. At bedtime tonight we read a book from the library called Early People.

Then we read the back our history timeline cards about Age of Ancient Empires and Creation and the Fall. We compared the ideas of creation and evolution and discussed the evidence to support each theory

Then we finished setting up our science experiment of watching seeds grow. Yesterday we put some bean, pea, and squash seeds in a jar with water to soak overnight. Today we could already see sprouts forming. We carefully put them in empty CD cases with dirt. Hopefully they will continue growing and we will get a good view of it since the CD cases are so thin.
