Today we learned about the Scientific Method. We read about the history of the Scientific Method and practiced handwriting by writing out the 7 steps. Then each boy chose a question that we could test using the Scientific Method. Thomas hypothesized that he could shoot Jacob with a rubber band. Jacob hypothesized that he could use pinching as a defense mechanism. It was pretty funny to watch but we were able to turn the silliness into a serious scientific discussion.
In math we read about different concepts related to averaging: mode, mean, medium, and range. I couldn't remember all the details myself so we used our math dictionary to help us. Then we tested are newly learned knowledge on IXL.
