Sunny Day

Aunt Amanda came to spend the day with us today. She and the boys played, read books, and cleaned the playroom while I did my chores. Once the house was (mostly) clean we had a picnic in the backyard. I brought out a small plate of meat and cheese. The rest of our lunch came straight from the garden. We had spinach, peas, onions, and strawberries.

It was such a beautiful, sunny day we pulled out the kiddie pool for the first time this year. Thomas had fun creating a new "vention" - he tied the hose around the handle on the side of the pool to make a fountain.

Then the boys took turns drinking out of the fountain... we're classy.

With Amanda's help, we finally made it to the library for the first time this week.

This week (and probably next week) we are reading about:

• Art - finding shapes in famous artworks
• Culture / Foreign Language - Spanish words
• Math - sorting, counting, addition and subtraction
• Science - bugs, dinosaurs, matter (solid, liquid, gas), push and pull, the solar system
• Social Studies - Patriotic Symbols (getting ready for Memorial Day)
• Just for fun - Legos Around Town, and Thomas and Friends
