Driving to Arkansas

We left our house this morning at 4:30am! Thomas was excited to follow our route on his map. He got a little bored with it after the first half hour when I told him we were still in the same place on the map as we were when we left home. Once we got to the interstate, the boys and I were fast asleep.

We were caravanning with Ryan's family so after breakfast Thomas got to ride with Nana, uncle Aaron, and cousin Gabbie. The next time we stopped he couldn't wait to show me his blue tongue. Thanks, Gabbie, for sharing your candy!

Back in our car, we passed the time by listening to music and reading train books.

When that got boring, I pulled out the big guns - the new markers.

They mostly just scribbled but then Thomas noticed that he had all of the primary and secondary colors so he asked me to draw a color wheel. I tried to get him to try to draw it himself but he insisted I do it. I did the coloring but I had him tell me where to put the colors.

After 10 hours of driving we finally made it to the hotel. The boys had a good time playing with the elevator buttons.

Every time we got on the elevator we let Thomas press the buttons. We would just tell him what number and he had to find the right button. Then he would say the numbers on the digital display as we went up. Once we got to our floor we let Thomas "find" our room by looking at the numbers on the doors.
