Train Math

We love trains and we love Unifix Cubes, so when I found this Unifix Ten Frame Tain Set, it was like a match made in heaven.

       

You just spin the spinner to find out what your "load" will be. This is great for adding and subtracting; counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's; visually learning numbers in relation to 5 (7 is 2 more than 5); even multiplication. The possibilities are endless.

 Hook the train cars up to a battery powered Thomas & Friends engine and it will actually pull the load across a carpet or hardwood floor.

 The train car trays are designed to work with Unifix Cubes, but you could really use them with anything - marbles, coins, small rocks, m&ms, and whatever else you can think of.

My boys have so much fun playing trains, they don't even realize they are learning math concepts in the process. There goes Thomas!
