Jacob's presentation for CC this week:

William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was a famous playwrite and poet. He wrote over 30 plays and many poems. He also performed in a lot of his own plays and other's plays.

We know about his writing but William Shakespeare is a mystery.

Not a lot is known about the man. Not even the date he was born or what he looked like.

We do know he was the son of a glove maker in England during the Renaissance period.

His dad would have never guessed William could become the most famous playwrite ever since the first theatre was built when William was 6 years old.

Theatre became popular during the Renaissance period because Queen Elizabeth liked music and plays.

William Shakespeare performed for the queen often.

In his plays he liked to use made up words that soon became real words in our English language such as puppydog, eyeball, and alligator.

By the time he died in 1616 William Shakespeare had made many friends. They put all of his plays into a book so they would not be lost.

Many of his plays are still very popular today.
